Dear Reader,
Alright, brace yourself. I’m going to drop some serious fashion news, so sit down if you’re not already planted. Are you ready? Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami are teaming up again for 2025. Yes, you heard that right. The dream team is back. Hold onto your wallets!
Alright, I know you already saw this coming. I can tell you have impeccable taste and you’re probably already knee-deep in the latest fashion gossip (I mean, you’re reading this blog, so clearly you’re a connoisseur). So, let’s skip the formalities and get to the good stuff. What’s the real reason we’re here today? My top picks from the Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami 2025 collab, of course! This collaboration has been long rumored, and it’s finally here.
But just because it’s dropping, doesn’t necessarily mean it will be easy to get. You’re going to need to strategize, prepare, and come up with back-ups to your first choice. Just in case things sell out. Now listen, if this drop is anything like the previous Murakami collab, it could go on for years, over a decade even! Keep reading to find my top choices for this drop- these are the pieces I’d buy (if money were no object of course).
Dauphine Soft GM
$5,050 USD M13255

It’s big, it’s ridiculous and it’s gorgeous. Everything Caleb Snell would want in a bag. Initially I was most excited about another style (which we’ll cover later), but the more I see this massive goofy looking bag, the more I love it! The only downside? That price! Let’s be serious. My major gripe with LV is that it’s just coated canvas at the end of the day. Sure, it’s iconic, it’s timeless, it’s beautiful. But for just a little more I can buy something from a different French design house. 🍊 Any guesses which one? But in all honesty, if this bag was closer to $3k, I’d be all over it!
All In BB
$2830 USD M13089

Okay, be serious. This bag is so stinkin’ cute! It’s well-priced (all things considered) and best of all? It’s versatile! Come through vers queen! This bag can easily transition from a little top handle bucket to what appears to be a crossbody with the addition of a strap extension. Now if you’ve seen my recent musings regarding the Multicolore collection over on YouTube (you are subscribed, aren’t you?). Then you are probably aware that I don’t love a lot of what’s going on on this bag. First of all: the lock. Why the lock? It doesn’t zip. There’s no way to keep it secure, why do I need a lock? Secondly the bow. I get it, the bow is synonymous with the Murakami collections of the past, but it feels busy attached to the side of a bag that already has a lot going on on that side. But those are my only gripes. If I were to try and get a bag from this collection new, this one is a front runner for sure!
Romy Card Holder
$630 USD M14155

“Cute” is the term to describe most of this collection. And the Romy Card Holder is no exception. I love this piece because (A) the price (B) mixed materials (C) and this is the most important one: the cute little brass panda. I’m assuming it’s just plated, but that’s beside the point. I love the hot pink, and this would be the perfect card holder to use inside my Marilyn from the first collection. Total vibe!
Multicolor BB Bandeau
$240 USD M94963 (Blanc) M96086 (Noir)

I love these, but given their price point, I’m sure they’ll be the among the first pieces to sell out. That is if this collection doesn’t last for 12 years like the last one. I’m not sure if I would get the black or the white. I have the Speedy and Marilyn both in Noir, but I’m not sure if the Noir bandeau would be too much on them, and I can’t decide if the Blanc would be garish or not. It’s a tough decision- hopefully the masses don’t decide for me by buying them all before I get the chance.
OnTheGo MM
$4,800 USD M13079

Am I the biggest fan of the OnTheGo? Not particularly. But there’s something alluring about this with the Multicolore and the addition of the trunk corners at the bottom. Do I love the pointless lock and clochette? No. Would it have looked better with a trunk pocket on the front ala the original MC Speedy and Keepall? 100% Yes. Will I be lining up to buy this? Probably not. But after a few years when it’s worth half of it’s original MSRP, I’ll snap one up on the preowned market!
OnTheGo East West Chain
$3,550 USD M13260

You all know I love my East West bags. I love my Celine Boogie(s), I have 3 after all, and my Louis Vuitton Suhali L’Ingenieux GM. There’s something so refreshing about East West design bags. Do I particularly love that this one has silver hardware? No. The Lock? No, once again. So what DO I love about this bag? It’s shape. I think the shape makes up for the rest of it’s shortcomings, and that could be dangerous for me and my wallet!
Speedy Bandoulière 25
$3,200 USD M13085

I’ve had a long history with the Speedy bag. In fact, it was my first designer bag I ever bought. I just love it’s familiar and iconic shape. And as much as I love my original Speedy 30 from the first run, and even though this one could never and would never compete with that original design- it’s growing on me. I hate to admit it, but it’s true! Would I buy this brand new? For $3,200? Absolutely not! But much like the other bags I’ve covered, I might try and buy this one preowned. $3,200 is a lot for coated canvas- let’s be real.
Card Holder
$375 USD M13403

For $375, this is a great buy. He said wondering to himself why a thin piece of coated canvas that could realistically only carry 3 cards was a “great buy”. I know- it’s crazy, and I don’t even think I like card holders. I rarely use them except for in my teeny tiny bags, which I hardly carry. But all things considered for the price of many pieces in this collection- this might be a piece I get new in store. I could also see this one selling out really quick too given it’s price point- so again, we’ll see if I get lucky!
Handbag East West
$3,950 USD M13084

This. Take my card. I need THIS! It’s everything that makes a Caleb Snell bag a Caleb Snell bag. It’s over the top, it’s East West, it’s Multicolore. It’s everything! I struggle with wanting to pay that price though because I paid less for my Hermes Lindy 34 preowned. And once you start collecting H, everything you buy goes into consideration for what could be another H bag. We call H Math around here, and you can call me Professor Caleb. I’m mostly kidding… kind of… but wow. Of all the pieces in this new collection, this one is PEAK!
Let me know down in the comments what you’re hoping to get, and if you were able to preorder your dream pieces already! I’m excited to hear!
